Sometimes life hands you lemons and you just need to make lemonade with it. Or you get a pile of scraps and then you make a quilt. You get off your schedule and you just have to get back on. As you can see, I’ve been off schedule since I didn’t blog for the last two weeks. We went on vacation to visit the grandkids the first week so I have a legitimate reason for not blogging. That and I haven’t taken the time to figure out the Word Press app on my iPad yet. It was more important to spend my limited time with the kids. Last week, I have no excuse. I just haven’t gotten back on schedule. I’m still a bit off my routine but am working on getting things back in order so here goes.

What an awesome week it’s been. On Monday I wasn’t even sure I’d have a job in two months. Then I found out I was moving laterally to a new challenging position with lots of interesting opportunities. And I’ll be working with all the same great people I work with now. I don’t want to mess up something they worked so hard on. So the “like a Baltimore” didn’t give me a good feeling…………………….. but I accepted the challenge.
As you can see by the picture this isn’t anything like a Baltimore quilt except that it’s ten appliqué blocks with lots of white space around the appliqué. She is a very fun person and easy to please so I thought I would try (more…)
Here I Am Lord
Now that I decided to blog my mind won’t shut off. Where do I start? I’m considering posts about how I organize my “stuff”. A good friend and fellow blogger just wrote a great article about how she organized her space. She is a full-time RVer so she has to be very creative.
I’ve always wanted to do a project using different types of stabilizers and write about what I used and what I thought about it. For instance, my guild recently took a class from the authors of String Quilt Revival and they used a new stabilizer (new to us) called Sheer Delight. I didn’t want to add one more unfinished project to my room so I didn’t take the class but I picked up ten yards of Sheer Delight. Everyone seemed to love it. I have plans to (more…)
