My Quilting Journey… Come Walk With Me

Lord Here I Am

Here I Am Lord

Now that I decided to blog my mind won’t shut off. Where do I start? I’m considering posts about how I organize my “stuff”. A good friend and fellow blogger just wrote a great article about how she organized her space. She is a full-time RVer so she has to be very creative.

I’ve always wanted to do a project using different types of stabilizers and write about what I used and what I thought about it. For instance, my guild recently took a class from the authors of String Quilt Revival and they used a new stabilizer (new to us) called Sheer Delight. I didn’t want to add one more unfinished project to my room so I didn’t take the class but I picked up ten yards of Sheer Delight. Everyone seemed to love it. I have plans to use it for a memory quilt made of ties. I’m actually going to make a small string quilt with SD instead of muslin which makes the quilt so heavy. I tried another in a project recently that I didn’t like but I may have used it incorrectly. I love Wonder Under because it’s nice and light. I want to make a reference book so I can then select what to use based on my upcoming project. If it didn’t help anyone else, it would certainly help me.

How about directions with detailed pictures on binding? Book reviews? I need a plan and fast……….

Off to make labels for my two recently finished quilts.

  1. I like wonder under, too. Keeping a reference of different resource materials you’ve used — along with how you used them and what you thought about them (and what you might have done differently, in hindsight) — is a marvelous idea!!! I’d love to see how you organize your stuff! Bahaha — I just need to come over some day for a play … errr … a sew date! 🙂
