To blog or not. I’ve thought about this for a long time and decided not to. However, here I am thinking about changing my mind. There are a lot of things I could write about regarding my love of quilting but will it be beneficial to anyone else? Let’s find out ……………
I love modern and art quilts but haven’t personally made many of them. I have however made lots of quilts over the last 15+ years. Pictures of most of my quilts can be found here: www.imageevent.com/quilter/myquilts. I enjoy scrap quilts, quilting for Project Linus and the local animal shelter so they can raffle it off to raise funds to support the shelter. I love hanging with my gal pals shopping, stitching and gabbing. I actually got to do that yesterday and we caught up with each other. It was so much fun.
I hit the local quilt shop, Hooked on Quilting, and picked up some fabric for a large block roll-up project we have scheduled for our local guild, Lincoln County Piecemakers, Fun Days coming up in September. I think I have a picture of one I can post.
Fun Days is an annual two-day daily retreat on Firday/Saturday. Through the year as folks bring in projects we think would be something easy and fun to learn, someone yells “Fun Days Project”. We gather those together starting in July and vote on them and the top 4 or 5 projects are offered by other guild members over the two days. We’re careful about copyright restrictions and if we need to require those who want to learn to purchase the pattern. Of course those would be offered for sale by HOQ if she can get them.
Is this a decent start? I’ll be back…………….
